Yesterday I was peddling my wares at the Narrows Botanic Garden Harvest Fair. As I’m unpacking my things, I thought it would be useful to make a checklist of the tools I take to an outdoor fair:
- Rope–No particular reason, could come in handy for something
- Clear bags–I used these as packaging for onesies. For bigger items I recycle interesting plastic shopping bags I receive during the course of the year
- Marker
- Clamps–to hold down cloths in windy weather
- String–to attach price tags
- Notebook–In case I’m inspired, or to note down on-the-fly commissioned work
- Camera
- Pens–for checks, checks, checks (I wish)
- Sales tax certificate
- Tape–to help a fellow vendor jury-rig her shelter
- S-hook–to hang up purses on display
- Business cards–These double as price tags
- Glass chips–to weigh things down in windy weather
- Binder clips–to attach things
- Scissors
- Hole punch–to make extra price tags
- Lint roller–to freshen up displays
- Tool kit–just in case and to hammer down the shelter stakes
Other things I forgot to put in the picture:
- Safety pins
- Clothespins–I’m definitely preoccupied with attaching stuff
- Bungee Cords
And this was my stand yesterday on a glorious Fall day:
What do you take to the fair?
