Cardboard with little doors filled with German chocolates...just like she does every year! That's my kind of advent calender! I love those little birds though...hmmmm. Three years ago, I bought a felt Advent calendar kit at the craft store. It was 50% off, and I had a few months to finish it. Easy peasy, right? *ahem* It's still not done. It's similar in design to Ms. Fransson's up there, but it's felt...and each little pocket-ornament is hand embroidered, and embellished with beads and sequins. I bought it because it was the same style as the stockings my grandmother made for my sister and I when we were babies...but now I see why Myrnie and I are the only two (out of 5 kids in our family) to have those stockings. It's so FUSSY. Last year, I resorted to using tacky glue around Thanksgiving, and I STILL couldn't finish by December 1. This year, with Grabby Hands around, I didn't even pull out the bag. Maybe next year... And HOW would I convince a 3 year old to eat only one piece of gum a day? LOL (Although, since Christmas will be "away" this year, that might be a good idea...) Oh the GUILT!!
